Yeah the battery fires are concerning. I saw where a lithium recycling plant had an issue earlier this week. Also our local fire dept is looking for an additional $200 a year, half to cut response times from 6mins down to 4mins and the other is for increased training and equipment needs to address EV accidents and fires. So increased property taxes, increased road wear, increased guard rail needs, increased insurance costs, tire use increased, lower gas tax revenues and on and on. Gov cheese tossed at Wall Street and those that look to our Gov to solve all our problems. Should drop the $7500 tax credit and have the EV folks paying full price plus $7500 to the gov to cover the costs to transition to the change, makes more sense to me and it would show that the true believers actually support the transition. All the folks I know who own an EV had the additional $’s to pay full price plus more.
