Yeah, in the past we had CC vendors on here and nobody could provide proof of loss of power due to buildup on the intake valves.
If you drive the car hard, the intake valve temps will become hot enough to burn off deposits. If you use the best modern engine oils like M1 SC 0w40 GM recommends, the oil is less volatile and won't cause as much buildup, which is also better for the cats.
I'd be more inclined to use one on a LT4 especially if used on track. Forced induction causes more blowby, but I've also never heard of this being an issue on LT4s so who knows, but it's likely doing more for an LT4 vs an LT1.
The other benefit of a CC is if you get a custom tune, less oil vapor in the intake air reduces the chances of LSPI and knock so your tune can be more aggressive and/or safer. LSPI is a real issue on boosted LT1s especially. However, the stock tune takes the oil vapor into account so there's likely little benefit to a stock LT1. A stock LT4 on track is more likely to pull timing and/or reduce boost though, so again, it might be more helpful on the LT4.
