Rochester Democrat and Chronicles Mid Season report Card on the Bills by position
Josh gets an "A"
Josh Allen may not be putting up the eye-popping numbers that he has in the past, but don’t be fooled: He’s having a great season. He’s third in NFL passer rating at 107.6 which, if that holds, would be the best of his career, even better than his 107.2 in 2020 when he was the runner-up in the MVP voting and set career highs for yards (4,544) and TD passes (37).
“He continues to develop, he continues to mature,” coach Sean McDermott said. “His command of our offense, his command of being in some critical situational football environments has been important for us as well in our team’s success. So he is the unquestioned leader of our football team and this organization.”
Allen ranks 24th in completion percentage at 64.4, but that’s a product of his awful game against the Texans; in four other games, he’s been over 70%. Also, among all statistically qualified QBs, his one interception is the fewest in the league and his 17 total TDs (14 passing, three rushing) are third-most. This is the most refined version of Allen we’ve ever seen.
