How do you remove a frog from a gas tank?

So this happened.... My wife Ildi went to fill up her Pathfinder and upon removing the gas cap... a frog was staring at her. She tried to get it out but he was already half way inside the filler neck and the opening. How he got there... I do not know. Long story short... she had someone try and help her to remove it and the frog decided to slide his way into the gas tank. I removed the wheel and wheel liner... I do not see any exposed openings to where or how the frog would've gotten behind the gas filler neck and still be alive and alert to make eye contact with my wife. Make it make sense....
