To me the next few days are the saddest of the year approximately 1184 (90-53 =37x32) players will be told they are not good enough or they are being replaced by some one younger and cheaper.
Then on Tuesday after 4pm and through the rest of the week the 32 teams will each sign up to 16 players to their practice squads
This can include up to 6 vested veterans with more than 3 years accrued service in the league the rest have to be younger player with less than 2 years accrued service.
32 x 16= 512 get jobs in the NFL and 672 see their dreams come to end temporarily until the injury bug hits and the teams will claw some of these guys back to the PS or the 53.
I think they should increase the roster size to 60 from 53 in the interest of player safety.
The addition 7 would be players with less than 2 years to help develop them faster.
You would still have the practice squads.
The game day roster should be increased from 48 to 55 which would get at least 2 of these extra young players on the field game day and reduce the injury rate with more substitutions.
It would only cost an extra 5-6 million a year per team as they would be paid league minimum.
