And to start a whole 'nother conversation - Fields is legit. The Bears front office is going to lose significant sleep over what to do with the #1 pick. Get it wrong either way and they're gone.

So if Fields played on your favorite team you would be comfortable giving him 50m per year for 5-10 years with 75% of it guaranteed?
I know what I would do if I were the GM...I would try to trade him or release him.
He is only worth 6m on the books and about 5m is bonus money.
They carried a 36m dead cap hit this year and next year they have 62m in cap so whats 6m or so just a drop in the bucket.
Draft a new QB and a true #1 WR in the first round and spend 45m on FA's like an Edge rusher and a couple of O linemen
