Bills defender made a good play and knocked it out as he was putting the ball away before he turned around or took a 3rd step. I know the rule is weird but that rule is why it wasn’t a fumble. If the defender had gotten there a split second later and knocked it out then it would have been fumble. The announcer even agreed it was most likely incomplete during the slow mo replay.

Well according to the NFL Travis Kelce's catch on third down to keep a Chiefs scoring drive alive was a catch but it did not contain a 3rd element or time component.
