A firebird would sell, but most of those sales would come straight from the Camaro. I'm making these numbers up as I go . . . figure they might get 40k sales for Firebirds. But 25k of those would be from people who would also buy a Camaro. That 15k difference isn't enough to justify the cost of the changes that need to be made, even over a 10 year cycle.

On the other hand, the G8 is a large, low buck sport sedan. My cousin is considering buying one to replace their Bonneville. There are no other cars that GM sells here that are similar to the G8. The closest is the Impala SS, and there is no comparison between the two. And the G8 has minimal competetion from other automakers.
