The V8 issues are real and they are definitely worse than ever before. There are over 2k 6.2L engines on backorder right now for GM service departments across the country. These are all warranty replacement engines too. That doesn't include the replacements that are customer pay. The wait time for a new engine is at 6-12 months.
Can you imagine buying a $75k ZR2 or Denali and having the engine blow up at less than 8k miles and then having to wait up to a year for a replacement? It sucks and it's a reality for a lot of owners right now. The first ZR2 we sold 8 months ago is sitting out back with a blown engine at 7k miles right now. No idea when GM can get a replacement either.
I've seen enough of them here that it's definitely on my mind with my truck.
