The 6.2 doesn't have a significant towing advantage over the 5.3, and it's heavier so you have a lower tongue weight. Either way, if you're looking to push numbers at the top end, you're likely going to need a 2500. I wouldn't tow anything over 10K# with a 1500 on the regular.
The 6.2 is a beats of a motor, but the 1500 is maxed out in other areas at those extreme weights.
Edit to say. The 6.2 also requires premium fuel, or it runs all retarded.
