Presidential/governmental (federal and state) policy can have a lot to do with supply of oil. When you tell us we can’t drill, (yea there may be lease permits approved but BLM won’t give the permits to drill and to authorize pipeline right of ways) and you impose incredibly stupid laws on production companies via BLM and certain state governments (AHEM… New Mexico, Colorado, California, etc) that are meant to make production way more difficult and not change the environmental concerns, you are limiting production. Limiting production increases prices, selling from the national reserves deflates prices momentarily for the elections coming up only for them to likely go up again shortly there after. The current POTUS openly said he was going to kill Fossil Fuels back in 2020. We are seeing those efforts.
In this context BLM references the Bureau of Land Management.
I didn’t sleep in a holiday inn last night. I proudly eat, sleep, and drink oil and gas as a production related supervisor for the evil multi billion dollar company I work for in the San Juan basin of NM.

Well, when the guy said that the President doesn't set gasoline prices.....my typing fingers were getting fidgety! Only an idiot can't see that his policy, mandates, and executive orders directly effected our energy situation! Guessing from that guys point of view, his economic policy has had no effect on the price of goods and services (let alone my 401K) either. Relax he says.....everyone's making more money. My raise this year was around 2%, but inflation is running around 8+%!
I think it was MOTO who said nothing worse than 1 California but 50 California's......more like 49 because apparently Indiana is the land of unicorns and fairy tails.....lol
