Where the profit is. Ask any CFO in the private sector, and barring constraints made by the company core values and statutory laws, every single business makes decisions based on profit.
Yes, I know many a CFO/CEO in both the medical and private industries, so I'm not talking out of my butt. The reason why car manufacturers are going so heavy into the EV market is due to profit margins and forecasting.
