I watched the unveil because I thought it was going to be cool even though I was skeptical based on your info. It was not.

I was quite disappointed too. The stuff I read in the embargoed press release had me thinking it would come off a lot better than it did. For example, the press release talked about a
natural sound that would be generated from the airflow under the vehicle at speed and channeled back into the cabin. I did not expect to see (or hear) the pseudo-Hemi manufactured noise they highlighted in the video. Not impressed. I also expected better explanation of the “multi-speed” transmission. Does multi mean more than two? They didn’t come close to explaining it. Is it like the 2-speed in the Taycan, but with more than two speeds, or is it “manufactured shift points” like in Nissan DCTs? We may never know. Here’s how they described it in the presser…
Unlike typical BEVs, the Dodge brand’s eRupt multi-speed transmission with electro-mechanical shifting delivers distinctive shift points, throwing shoulders into seat backs in true Dodge style.
Sounds like an actual multi-speed transmission, which would be a game-changer for EVs. Now I’m not sure what it is.
