A note of caution if you decide to go the half-ton route be sure to do your research on Gross Vehicle Weight and towing capacity. Just because a truck CAN tow, say 12,000 lbs or so doesn't mean it can do it SAFELY. There are actually laws that pertain to this subject and if you're involved in an accident with an overloaded rig YOU may be at fault. I decided to go a bit overkill for future expansion with the 2500HD as my '94 1/2 ton damn near made me s#!t my pants one time during a freeway panic stop.
