Camaro is lower, but we all know that.

So not sure why the comparison is Camaro to M2 when size wise it's M4.
It's helpful to note that the M240i is getting significantly fatter in 2022. It will be 4.3 inches longer, 2.6 inches wider, and wheelbase increases by 2". NO idea what the 2022 acceleration numbers will be but, as has been noted, curb weight looks to be up around 3860 (which also happens to be in the M340i ballpark). This should drop a hundred pounds or so for the promised 2WD version.

We do know that the motor is no longer the -40HP version of the B58 but will be offering the same rating as the M340i- 382HP, 369 Ft/Lbs.

ETA: For the M240i to have REALLY retained its appeal all they needed was a couple modest updates, maybe upgrade the electronics, tweak the styling slightly (or leave it alone) and THEN, OF COURSE add the missing 40 HP to the turbo V6. Not sure why they made it quite so much bigger. As it is the plain-jane 1SS looks like a real bargain to me. As I've been saying time and time again, I need to find one to rent or overnight test drive to know for sure.
