Aside from what is mentioned above (traction and bmw underrating their horsepower) the m240i weighs about 150 lbs less than an SS. Aside from that lower power cars tend to have better gearing for acceleration and they also can typically hang until a little passed 100 mph. It’s the higher speeds where horsepower and aero truly take over. Assuming the camaro is at least as aero dynamic as the bmw I would bet the camaro would really pull away from it in a roll race as the speeds start to increase.
