As a former BMW owner, I can tell you that it's not about the make of the car, it's who owns/runs the dealership. There was a family-run dealership that I worked with that was absolutely hands-down the best experience I ever had. While I was leasing my second BMW from them, they sold to a megadealer group and the level of service took a massive nose dive. So disappointing, in fact, that it was a big factor in why I didn't get another BMW after my lease was up.
That said, BMW does include 3 years of scheduled maintenance in the price of the car - I won't call it free because you do pay a premium for the brand name. It also won't offset the large gap in base MSRP over a Camaro, or even the difference between a loaded 2SS and a base M240i.
