Rimac Nevera does 8.58 qtr mile with street tires, obviously this is crazy money but eventually some of the tech trickles down, hard to not appreciate it if you like going fast.
I appreciate that electric vehicles are pretty amazing performance wise but being married to a vehicle that has a 300 mile range without running AC or heat and can take 2 - 12 hours to charge is not going to fly with me. Also I work as an electrician and the average home on Cape Cod where I live has a 100amp service and will need to be upgraded to 200amp minimum for a fast charger, also the infrastructure is going to need to be upgraded to service this demand, this is going to take decades. ICE engines aren't going anywhere soon unless there is a breakthrough in hydrogen or battery tech, Li-ion batteries are toxic, expensive and dangerous.
