I'll just repeat what I said in the other section...
Car companies have been saying the 'V8 days are numbered' for decades.
I think Dodge, GM, Ford, etc. say this stuff to satisfy the "eco-friendly" people and attract potential buyers who are concerned about technology and 'saving the environment'.
I know GM has announced all their vehicles will be electric by 2035 but I think they said that to boost their overall public image and stock value (among other things). Leadership within GM will likely change a lot between now and 2035 which means it's possible the 2035 target date will get changed. It all depends on the public acceptance of electric cars as time goes on....
