What you are saying in a sense has already happened.
I am old enough to remember when paper bags were banned because we were using too much paper, and filling the landfills. So they stopped giving paper bags and replaced them with plastic bags. Some 30 years later they tell us that plastic bags are polluting the earth and we have to ban them. So what are we going to do when they tell us that we have to stop using batteries and electricity?
