It's not, but they get treated with kid gloves. Sentimentally USA with retro styling and big pushrod engines, even though the dohc 6 might be the only major US component. What amount of design, engineering, testing happening in the US did it take to think through that parts bin? I don't know. And is Gilles a Brit? Seems a good-willed dude.

One of the Mopar blogs had people saying the French are the ones running the show now. I think FCA's Elkan's have a partially French background, but also had a media stake in the Economist with the infamous Rothschild family.

I suspect some of the Hellcat hype was intended to cock-block a not-yet-everybody-in-GM away from traditionalist support, and supply carbon credit sales to help Elon "We'll coup whoever We want! Deal with it!" Musk fulfill his pied-piper role.
