A lot of intake manifold jobs were sold when it was really the dummy shaft seal. I really disliked a few of my coworkers at the time because they were blatantly ripping customers off. Remember, 2.8s, 3.1s, 3.4s and 3.4 DOHC engines all had it. I had a 3.1 in my 1990 Grand Prix STE. I never once had to do an intake reseal and drove that car to the crusher with 420000 kms on it. It was a great car. I do wish it had the 3.4 DOHC though.
