So while my six second estimate is probably three-or-so tenths high, the fact remains that my $25k 320-hp Mustang GT has the same 0-60 time as the $40k 425-hp Challenger SRT-8, and gets about 7mpg better to boot. That's a no-brainer anyway you slice it.
Again, I love the styling of the Challenger, I really do. I have no doubt that one in black will look absolutely bad-ass. However, I'm not as concerned with interior, otherwise I'd buy a C-series or something. I want the most fun car I can get for the cheapest price, and right now the Mustang beats the Challenger hands-down.
...but I'm looking forward to the Camaro. Let's hope they make it tough for the Mustang and price it aggressively.

The R/T hemi in the challenger is the "upgraded for '09" hemi. I think they just re-worked some mechanicals to it, such as adding VVT, higher compression ratio; higher-flowing heads, etc. Any vehicle that uses the 5.7 gets the upgraded version, i.e.:Ram, Challenger, Charger, etc.
