As far as power It felt like the Mustang didn't really kick in until 4-5k rpm range where the Camaro feels strong with the 6.2L well through the rpm range for the most part at least to me. Each vehicle I test drove was the auto due to my left leg I medically am unable to drive manuals anymore.
I also liked the looks of the Camaro better than the Mustang.

Correct about the higher RPM range with the Mustang. I won't knock the GT though. A lot of youtube videos of the SS versus the GT, yes the SS is quicker at first BUT the Mustang catches up quickly once it gets to that 4-5k RPM and gains ground quick. There is a good video on youtube, can't find it but pretty much bone stock in real world conditions showing how the SS is quicker at first but the GT pulls hard once it gets going and eventually is a little quicker.
What I like about Mustangs is all the aftermarket mods for it and custom tunes and such. I love the C6 design over the Mustang though.
Now if we were comparing a 2012 Coyote to a 2012 SS I would take the Mustang and is a reason why I went with a Mustang in 2011. Better performance numbers and better design.
Hardly anyone drives the c6 SS or LT1 in this area of the state. It's mostly the c5 Camaro or a v6 6. I see very few SS and LT1 and ZL1 around here. I don't think I've ever seen an LT1 Camaro within 60 miles of me and only a couple ZL1s. My Silver SS really stands out. Like at the fleamarket at work I see guys looking at it lol and turning heads. Too bad I dont see hot chicks checking my car out.

The newer Mustangs while the engine is great it greatly lacks in style.
