The Cats Out Of The Bag!!!

Here's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!....IF you ever need someone to talk to, and need to keep it secret, I'm your man...and here's the proof. After keeping this a secret for a year, 4 months and a week. I can let the cat out of the bag!!......this all started in July of 2019, shortly after the reveal of the C8 Corvette, I decided to get one. I went to a dealership that I knew had a fair ammount of allocations, afterall, they were a top national corvette dealer and bought my 3 previos Corvettes from them. I put myself on the list. That was August 12th, 2019. Then the strike came before a single car was built, actually it delayed the start of production by 2 months. On Feb 2nd production started. The wait started. Because of the color I picked, my allocation would be later. It finally was my turn and I got the call to come in and finalize my order, it was processed on March 11th 2020, on March 17th my order was accepted for prouction by GM. Three days later on March 20th, GM stopped accepting orders for 2020 C8's and shortly there after shutdown the Bowling Green Assembly plant because of COVID-19, the biggest part of the nation did....for 2-1/2 months. In June, GM made the announcement that all orders that were accepted for production would be made. My order, like so many others, felt like it was in limbo....for nearly 8 months it remained in that status, until November 5th and it meant it would be made in a few weeks. Three weeks later was my TPW. And on November 25th my car rolled off the assembly line, "IT WAS ALIVE!!!" One week later it was released for shipping. Ten days later, on December 5th it was laoded on a trailer and shipped on Monday. Four cars were delivered to other dealerships along the way, and on Tuesday the 8th of December, as I was sitting in my salesmans office, the tractor trailer with my car on it pulls up, my car was front and center. Seeing as I was there, after off-loading all 6 cars, they took mine straight to the service department to do the DPI first. Meaning I was going to be bringing my ride home that day!! 485 days after I put my name on the list. OH HAPPY DAY!!! The next day I dropped her off and had PPF on the nose, tinted the side glass and double coated with ceramic. The day I picked it after getting that work done....I didn't come home until I had the 500 mile break in done!
