no such thing as a stupid question. Depends on what kind of engine you're trying to build. And if you want to take a ZR1, it is actually pretty simple. Get a better hp/tq per vehicle lb and put it to the ground with traction.

You can beat a zr1 with 100hp if the vehicle is light enough(i.e. street bike).

If you're talking about an ls3. I'm sure it can be done all motor, but I'd imagine some nice suspension work on that vehicle.

Hell I could get away with a cam swap in my stock ls1 and add a 9in rear end and some slicks and either be scary close to a Z on the strip or possibly beat it if it is stock.

What engine and vehicle are you talking about?
