If you check out the ratings at cNet
www.cnet.com you will find the Panasonic's were rated the best and give the best bang for the buck on the Plasma side, their LCD's rate well also.
I used to be a Sony die-hard until flat screens and for me Sony just does not have that bounce it once had over other TV's, they still make very good TV's but to me they have lost that "class of their own" in everything but the prices.
