NOW lets give credit for this for where credit is due. The Papacy of Pope Innocent III.
This is a response from the Pope's Abbot of Cīteaux, Arnaud Amaury during the lead up to the Albigensian Crusade.
A small town in the Southwest of France Albi was inhabited by 90% Catholics and 10% Cathars. The Cathars were CHRISTITANS but had some varying beliefs than the ORTHODOX CATHOLIC DOGMA. Pope Innocent III was resolved to cleanse Cathars from the Languedoc and he organized a Christian Crusade to MARCH ON CHRISTIANS.
YUP. The crusaders a bit perplexed as to how they should discern Cathars from Catholics got a response from the Abbot that said "Kill them all, God will know his own".
