I am from NY and know many lost on 9/11. I too have many friends and family in the military. The event was no where near funny. What I found amusing was how I have sat through many conversations exactly like that one.
People take different things away from a tragedy, but the irony of the conversation is crazy.
BTW - I for one, as well as most people, appreciate our Military and security forces, in this country. Both before and after 9/11. We are very lucky to have so many good people on a volunteer basis. :flag1:
In other countries it is mandatory and you are in for years starting at 18.
