See it all the time. Then when we come, after the 14 year old calls 911,

The USA is not like it used to be. "Board of Education"? Gone...Parents straightening out kids? Gone. Anything close to "cruel and unusual"? Gone.
Tightening that attitude is fine by me...what bothers me is that some people go way too far. Those people are typically lower income, were subjected to harsh overboard beatings (societal norm to the offender) and what happened is legislators said "no-no"!
Anyhow...Your house, your rules. Let him call the police or social services. Just deny what your 14 year old tells the police. Then withhold his allowance, TV, Ipod, cell phone use for a few months and don't wash his clothes. Add to his "to do" list outside and see how well that does for you.
If he is smart, he will get the hint..
