Shoulda, coulda, woulda

Completely non-Camaro topic, but I've noticed an increasing trend of people misusing past participles in a weird way. They say "should have went" and "would have did" and I can't help but cringe... what is this, a new hipster trend I've missed? Or a failure of basic modern day English language education?

The thing is, it isn't just teenagers, I see it across the entire gamut, from teens to baby boomers.

Do you guys know where this is coming from? Full disclosure, my native language is not English, so I might be missing a sign of the times or some cultural background theme here.
