If something has changed, I'm changing my plate to TAG UR IT. Last I heard, it was only 6 digits/letters. I've never seen one w/ 7, but wouldn't doubt it will go up to 7 soon (if it already hasn't).

See...that's what I thought too. But, I was down at our police vehicle shop today and what do I see??? I see a new crown vic in preperation to be decked out w/ all SAPD lights, sirens, decals and stuff and it has a new plate w/ 7 digits! I spoke to another officer who said 7 digits/numbers on GOVERNMENT VEHICLES ONLY. Now, I'm not sure. He was pretty sure, but...who knows. I'm calling the DMV tomorrow because I have an idea....

and the plate was like this... 123 4567....with 3 numbers, space, 4 numbers.

Oh, and any more info on the 7 digits? That would open up many possibilities if that would spread to the rest of us!

There is talk about adding a 7th in a few years - so around time for the new camaro.

According to the Local Tax Assesors Office..THE NEW SEVEN DIGIT PLATE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE WHEN THE NEWLY DESIGNED PLATES COME OUT AT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.. I cant seem to find the state webpage i found that info on..to confirm what the office said..But that is what i was told hope this helps, and settles your nerves until the first of the year..Then it will be a race to your local office to get the plate you want.
