I think the C7 Z06 / ZR1 will come down in price and a lot of camaro owners will trade in their cars for the better priced C7 Z06 / Z06 or the new C8
I think chevy hit a home run with the new C8 - excited to see more - still love my ZLE- but I'm getting the itch
Just hate the fact that these new cars don't have manuals anymore

Well there is an entire world beyond the numbers on paper. And in that world, many people are going to prefer the C7 Zs over this new C8. I doubt anyone will trade a ZR1 for anything less than a C8 Z. You'll see mainly Stingrays, SS Camaros, ZL1s, and possibly a handful of 15-17 Z06s getting traded in. But I doubt it will be such a mass Exodus that people think it will be. ZL1s and Z06s aren't just gonna be sitting on lots left to rot.
Performance-wise, all we know is that GM claims the only thing faster will be the C7 ZR1. That is 0-60 tho. Beyond 60, I bet a ZL1 or C7 Z06 or C6 ZR1 will gun that thing down very quick because forced induction. Sure the C8 is very well developed and has the rear engine design. But it is still down by a LOT of HP. The design is going to get it off it's feet very fast and it'll grab the lead. But when those blowers hit full boost and any traction advantage is negated due to higher speeds, then the Z boys will catch up and take over from there. So for those who desire the thrill of top end pulls, roll racing, top speed, etc, the Zs will be preferable.
Personally I plan to get one. But I changed my mind on trading either of my current cars in to get one. I figure that by the time the C8 Z06 is available I'll be able to walk off with one of those fully loaded. So I think I will wait.
