First, don't say goodbye to the Camaro. Until GM announces something, and they won't until the very end, nothing is any stronger than a "I know a guy that brother's aunts son worked on the Camaro and he just got a new job so the Camaro must be dead in 2023" There are so many unknowns in the rumors and even if true, what's missing is the entire product plan that would suggest if GM is replacing it with something other than an ICE of off of another architecture. There was a study years a ago to take a 2+2 coupe off of the C6 architecture. It never went anywhere.

But to your point, there is already a price differentiation between Corvette and Camaro. And likely the people buying a $60,000 Corvette will be more turned off by the Rear Engine than price. But the Corvette's biggest competitor is not the Mustang, it's Porsche.

So will a small number of GM loyalists be priced out of or packaged out of the C8? Very possible. Will 100% of them go buy a Camaro, absolutely not.

Is it enough to bump sales? Yes, but my opinion is not enough to move the needle.

But as usual, time will tell, and you may be correct.

But if GM were planning on this, there would be no rumor of shelving the car in 2023.
