Xanthos is the name of one of Achilles' horses. (With the other being Pedasos) In the Illiad, Xanthos (after being told off for the death of Patroklos) reminds Achilles that he is destined to die in the battle. The gods strike him mute because of this.
I was looking for a mythical horse name when I bought my IROC because the Camaro is a pony car. I settled on Xanthos because its a subtle reminder to me that I should live life as if each day was my last.
I still use the plate on my current car because of that meaning.
