If the next-gen Camaro goes FWD IT WILL NOT BE BECAUSE OF CAFE. It will be because chevy might not have a RWD platform for it. If The Zeta II goes away and The alpha platform is too expensive, that would be the real reason, not some bogue CAFE excuse. If that is the case then Chevy can easily copy one of Ford's tricks for the mustang. For an example Ford constantly adjusted the fox platform the mustang was on for 20 years or so keeping it competitive. And Ford will do the same thing with the current mustang which I believe is called DEW lite. (Lincoln LS chasis if I am correct). The next gen mustang in about 2014, I bet will remain on that platform, ford will keep to its usual tricks. if there is no RWD chasis for a next gen camaro then Chevy should follow Fords example and Keep the Zeta II, Tweek it through the years etc... It is a solid platform. But Mark my words it the camaro goes FWD, its competition form Toyota, Hundai, and Ford WILL BE RWD. NOT GOOD.
