I just don't think the mid-cycle update they did on the SS model is doing it any favors. If I was the designer on the refresh, I would have never went to such an extreme approach to the front end like that.

Then, they decide to black out the center bar and place the bowtie emblem on the bumper to make it look even worse. It's almost as if they were trying to make it look ugly on purpose or something.

That huge gaping maw ruins the whole front end of the car. Sure, the Camaro should be aggressive, especially the SS models, but they should also be sleek and well proportioned.

The front half of the original '16-'18 6th gen is not bad. However, when you get past the C-pillar and beyond is when things go wonky. I never really liked the shape of the rear quarter window. It doesn't look very Camaro like to me. It's looks more like what the Mustang would have.

In fact, it reminds me of the '71-'73 Mustang fastback models which had a very similar profile. On a new retro based fastback Mustang, it would look great. On the Camaro, it looks out of place.

Also, the cutout of the rear wheel openings on the body don't look right to me. It's like they are too low in comparision to the front wheel well openings. When people lower their 6th gens, this mismatch in height becomes even more apparent in side profile shots. I think this is where the import styling comments come from. Imports traditionally had the rear wheel well openings much lower than the front wheel well openings.
