in the last 15 years, Coaches that have been promoted from within have a very low Winning % ( mostly from inheriting bad rosters & Owners hiring on the cheap) and on average last 2 1/2 Years.

In Cleveland a Coach Averages 2 Years! 10 Coaches in 20 Years. They had Belichick, he went 36-44!
