You're half right. I didn't know what it was, until you made a thread about that dealer-made 'special edition' a while ago. But thanks for letting me know that in order to be a GM person, you had to like every single thing they've previously done -even if it was years before you were born
(hating on new stuff is perfectly fine though).
Sarcasm aside, I really don't understand what knowing its origin has to do with whether or not it looks good. If anything, not having any nostalgia whatsoever for the Big 10s would make my opinion that much more objective. Painted wheels (aside from silver/grey/black) look extremely tacky to me. Same thing with big body graphics.
Tacking on retro things to a modern design pretty much never looks right to my eye. And I don't care for the opposite of that either: modernizing old cars by slapping on some big new wheels with low profile tires and sticking an iPad in the dash.
