I don't think that realistically enthusiasts could save the car if they decide to get rid of it. Unlike the Mustang, there's no pressure to maintain an unbroken heritage, since the Camaro was out of production for several years in the mid 2000's. Chevy also has the Corvette to carry the flag. Ford has the GT, but thats a different beast and is limited production.
