I'm pretty sure that Ford planned a 5.2l. cross plane crank for the GT500. Voodoo flat plane has a 8250 redline. With the vibration issues that Ford has experienced with the flat plane crank at 528 hp, I believe that they decided to go cross plane in the GT500 with the higher HP/TQ numbers.
Ferrari can do flat plane... Blue oval not so much.
