Finding out how bad my Camaro's TB was at 73,000 made me wonder about my wife's Explorer with 115,000 - all city driving, stop & go, short trips not letting the engine fully heat up, diving like a grandmother (the wife not me).
Well, I was right, it was disgusting. I used CRC Throttle Body & Intake cleaner, Q-Tips along with frozen fingers (t-shirt weather yesterday, cold & snow today ... Ohio sucks sometimes). It took about 45 minutes (including the time it took to find the bolt I dropped in the engine compartment) to get it all done, and I have to say the end results are fantastic, a huge difference in idle quality & smoothness.
I did the IAC and MAF sensor, which were nasty too, I just didn't take pictures of them.
