Is it really a blown engine? Doesn't look like it dumped any oil.
Sucks to see nice cars disabled on track, but it happens. Sometimes it is driver error (missed shift). Sometimes it is poor workmanship. Sometimes it is a design flaw/weak link. Sometimes it is just shit happens.
I hope it does not deter the owner from tracking again in the future.
As to the Voodoo engine and the GT350 in general, I never considered it as a track car. The engine is too rare. There is little familiarity with it. Parts are hard to get on short order if you have a problem. Things are just more expensive.
To me, a track car needs to have commonly available major components (engine, transmission, brakes, etc) as the #1 pre-requisite. Tracking rare vehicles is asking for trouble.
