If Cleveland drafts Barkley at 1, QB's will go 2 and 3 and Darnold won't be there.
The Giants will take one... like they should anyway... and the Colts phone will blow up and somebody like Buffalo will make them an offer they can't refuse. That means Cleveland will get QB #3. Darnold will be gone and so will one of the two Josh's.
So if the Browns take Barkley at 1 that means they love Baker Mayfield. Which may be the case, but I don't think so.
If the Browns draft a QB at 1 and the Giants were going to pass on QB to take Barkley, their phone will blow up and somebody like Buffalo will make them an offer they can't refuse. Then when a QB goes at 2 the Colts phone blows up and somebody like the Broncos or Jets pay dearly to move up a few spots to get their QB and... poof!... there is Barkley at 4 for the Browns.
Bottom line... the Giants and Colts will be offered QB inflated trade value for their picks and you can't justify passing that up for a running back no matter how good he is.
