I got to drive one, but it wasn’t ours. The Impala wasn’t bad I thought. It was small though. The Lumina’s we had one year (1996) were really tight, but I think that was just exaggerated by the fact we had just come from LT-1 powered Caprice’s. The Crown Vic’s in the late 90’s had the worst brakes I’ve ever experienced with their ABS. If you slammed on the brakes on a washboard type surface I sware to this day you’d go faster as it felt like it got confused and just gave up. Plus if you had chains on the bouncing of the rear would trip the fuel shutoff. Many times, in traffic, I’d have to jump out of the car, open the trunk, and push the button before I got rear ended in a snowstorm.
