For what most will be paying for the 2019 GT500 in it's first and second model year. I honestly believe that (if it were financially feasible for me) I could purchase a new ZR1 and maybe have enough $ left over for a second set of wheels and tires.

Before you L your AO, consider the Ford ADM's on the GT350 and GT350R in their first 2 years of production. $15-35K on the 350 and $40-75K on the R were unfortunately "the norm". Especially in areas where motivated potential buyers commonly had unlimited cash resources. Yes, there were those who paid that ADM without hesitation. A working class dog like me can't compete with that. Background; I actually queried 18 Ford dealerships from Honolulu, HI. to Richmond, VA. and points north and south. Offering "a modest $10-15K" over MSRP for a non R GT350 with track pack. Most were pleasant and professional, but all declined.

Maybe it's the production number plate thing... No, that doesn't hold water either, there were 3000 GT350's built and 3048 ZL1's built in 2017. Based on "limited" production numbers, that's a lot of $ for a number plate and a significantly lower level of performance. Not a hater, just saying.

I am more than happy to pay MSRP for my new Z at a dealership just a few miles from my island home.

No, thank you on the GT500.
