I'd rather have a V8, mostly due to their sound, a cammed V8 with full exhaust = S3X.
But I'd go with a 350z or some other fast v6... I just dont know a lot about 6cyl. cars though and how powerful some of them are...
If you could, list over some cars, then I'll make a poll of which one you guys think is best.

1LT/RS would plunk you down at around 26-27K. 300+ HP with room to boost.. You could easily get payments into the 300/mo range with 8K down. Not to mention military discounts, etc.
However, an 06 Goat can easily be had for 20K or less. Just gotta search hard for the right one. Fixing them isn't a hassle, they use
LS2 engines and by law GM is required to keep parts on hand for years to come (probably 15-20 iirc). Easy to modify and just run to the GMC dealership if you need parts.
