ah the caddy, i fondly remember that car as my aunt and uncle who was a HARD core caddy owner. when i was a little boy about 5 or so he had a 1972 DeVille his was a coupe not a sedan and it was white but otherwise it was the same as the LTD caddy. I have not seen the movie in a while, I DO have the DVD

. I felt so bad when the drunk guy took off with it and trashed it. a little movie trivia on the movie. there was supposed to be a scene where the guys find a dealership that has an identical caddy and they swap the plates and take the keys for it and take that to the ARCHIES diner and that car gets food dropped in it etc. when they go to return it the owner came back that night and took the grandpa caddy home and he is the one that trashes it before the guys can get it back. if you watch the movie when they skid to a stop in front of the pizza shop after corey haim is whining about the 'scratch' you see a car lot in the distance across the street and on a raised platform you see a blue caddy with a white top in the middle.
