They're also really heavy. A good set of carbon brakes would reduce rotating mass by ~60 lbs.
Carbons are also nice because you don't have to worry about pad transfer, uneven rotor cooling, etc. after coming off the track. A single cool down lap isn't always enough to keep bad things from happening to the iron brakes.
Iron brakes are obviously a better choice for most people. GM got that right, but it'd be awesome if GM could offer the carbon ceramics as an accessory for those who want them.
