Are you sure you don't have the valve open, I accidentally left my valve open and it was hissing, I believe to open it, it's clockwise, and to close it, it's counterclockwise

On your drain open the valve, if there is vacume when you put your finger on it, it is hooked up correctly, if not you have it hooked up wrong, if I remember correctly
